Slime Dungeon (Jam Log)

This was a submission to MiniJam #124, a weekend long gam jam.

For jam / scope reasons I tried to keep the game simple, which allowed me to build a larger game than I otherwise would with more complex mechanics.
I didn't have any issues and development went smoothly, which in-turn contributed to the speedy and streamlined development.

Future Changes:

For the post-Jam version I want to work on fleshing out the already existing mechanics and work on properly balancing the difficulty scaling, after that I also plan to change the premade dungeon to a semi-procedurally generated dungeon, with premade rooms allowing for high levels of detail and procedurally generated Layouts, I think this will be a good mix of handcrafted detail & Proc Gen replayablility.

The player character will be change to a humanoid, with interchangeable weapons you can buy from the shop, and discussion the shop, it will be completely revamped. Base stat upgrades will no longer be available at the shop, they will now be incorporated into a player leveling system and the shop will exclusively be used for Abilities and Items.

I am also working on different styles of dungeons, for each type of slime. I plan on have 4 types, each having 3 variants and 1 boss. I think this will be a nice amount of variety to enemy design, majority of these new sprites are already finished and ready to be implemented into the game.

Boss fights are no long on a timer, you will be free to wander and explore the dungeon until you see fit. The dungeon progression will be change to a floor system, where you progress downwards through around 2-4 floors until reaching the boss fight.
